    More than 50 activities were organized to tackle the challenges and concerns facing the publishing sector, in which more than 3,000 trade professionals took part.

    New information and communication technologies, new publishing products, the marketing and promotion of books and reading, and the protection of the rights of authors, publishers, booksellers, illustrators and distributors were all fundamental issues for Liber.

    · The Liber Tribute in recognition of a professional track record: Jorge Herralde, founder of Editorial Anagrama.

    · Prizes for Promoting Reading: Emili Manzano for his programme L'hora del lector on Canal 33; La tribu imaginaria from Onda Regional in Murcia; the newspaper Canarias 7.

    · Award for the Best Public Library: Sartaguda library in Navarre.

    · Boixareu Ginesta Award for Bookseller of the Year: the Cervantes bookshop in Salamanca.
